CLARENCE SKUTER - Owner & Manager
Clarence is the general manager and the owner of the Humblehorse operation. He is also our resident jack of all trades, he is an engineering technologist with a degree in Agriculture, Animal sciences and horse husbandry. Combined with his technical and farming background and his many years of hands on experience working and living on a farm, t is hard to find something he isn't good at. Clarence’s passion is evident in every aspect of the business, but his heart especially beats for the social and life skills development potential of horse back riding. "Much of what we have learned in that area is from the therapeutic riding program". . His willingness and love of helping people achieve the dream of riding a horse is one that makes him a key part of our team.
BECKY SKUTER - Head Riding Coach, Fitness & Nutrition Coach, & Equine Massage and Vertebral realignment specialist.
Becky is a certified western riding coach. She received her training at Olds College and is certified under Equine Canada and with the Alberta Equestrian Federation. To date, Becky has logged over 25,000 coaching hours in Canada and overseas, and has been actively coaching for over 20 years. Besides the Humblehorse she has coached internationally in Malaysia, Greece, and the USA, in the Western riding discipline. In 2017 , Becky was offered an amazing opportunity to travel to China to work with one of the greatest horse shows in the world, Cavalia. She has experience working as a Vet Technician as well and worked for Moores Veterinary on the ambulatory vet, where she gained one-of-a-kind hands-on experience in equine emergencies and standard practices. Becky has also taken her Equine Massage Therapy and Vertebral Realignment Courses and is certified in both. Becky is also our backup fitness instructor certified through Can-Fit Pro. She specializes in creating a one-of-a-kind experience through both horses and fitness. Her positive, outgoing attitude allows her to see the best in people, no matter the situation. Her passion is to enable people to experience the amazing world of horses. She has combined her extensive background in endurance racing, competitive trail, mountain riding, and rodeo, to create a unique, life-changing riding experience for everyone she teaches.
AIMEE BAILEY - Youth and Developmental Coordinator & Pound Fitness Instructor
Aimee is currently the lead instructor for the Pound-Fitness program which forms the heart of our Equi-fit program. She has also our program developer and our in house psychologist. She has been with Humblehorse since the very beginning and coupled with her degree in Child & Youth Studies she has over 10 years of teaching and facilitation experience. She continues to work in the medical field. In the past she has also structured and lead our Therapeutic and Lead-line lessons, as well as our children’s Learn to Ride classes. Her expertise in running and managing many youth outreach programs plus her bubbly and smiley personality makes her a valuable member of the team, loved by all her clients.
KAREN SKUTER - Event Co-ordinator
Not only is Karen an amazing mom to Aimee and Becky, and a wife to Clarence she is also the beating heart of the operation! She is the welcoming and friendly face that you will see every time you arrive at Humblehorse. She has been an active member in the Strathmore community and mastered the art of chit chat with clients, customer relations and according to her family, a masters degree in cooking! Karen will take care of everything you need for your family events and parties and is sure to make every visit special!
Courtney - Senior Leader
Courtney is Becky's right-hand gal! She helps us make the dream a reality for so many great kids and adults. Courtney has been part of The Humblehorse Family taking lessons with us since she was 3 years old! She has now been our number one employee for over 5 years now. Courtney is not only great with horses, she's also a great leader, role model and extremely hard worker, she has never let us down and is always up to learning new things and working hard to achieve her goals! We are so privileged to have her working with us, and as senior rider and leader she greatly contributes to delivering, what we feel is a world-class western riding program. Each leader at The Humblehorse Ranch has been trained in horse safety and rider psychology Through our Learn To Lead Clinic AND are all current Storm Academy or Phoenix Riders.
